Environmental effects on brain health: The nose is the gateway to the brain.

Air pollution has long been known to be harmful to health, but can air pollution also have an impact on brain health? The University of Eastern Finland is investigating the connection between air pollution and brain function and the mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease. The research aims to provide potential targets for the prevention and treatment of brain diseases. Can contaminants take up memory? The experts of the Science Café were Associate Professor Katja Kanninen and Associate Professor Pasi Jalava.
